i-Kabary is a project of IEP Madagascar for the promotion of public speaking, Malagasy language and the French language.
This is an eloquent competition for students and high school students. i-kabary is a meeting platform for young people with a similar interest in speeches but also a platform for expression through the duels of speakers.
i-kabary emphasizes essentially three types of discourse, all other than the customary discourse in Malagasy social relations. The speeches therefore refer to a mobilization, a plea or an application. Four general themes are considered in this competition: freedom, democracy, governance, development.
IEP Madagascar is supported by the Ministry of Education in this event and offers training sessions before each confrontation of candidates. Training is not only about public speaking but also about content. A basic training in civic education is given in this preparation of the Kabary.
